Your Barcelona by Train journey will begin when you meet your early-morning train at Puerta de Atocha Railway Station. From the station, you'll take a 3-hour train trip to the beautiful city of Barcelona.
Once in Barcelona, you'll be able to join a Hop-On-Hop-Off tour! Hop-On-Hop-Off tours are tours conducted on double-decker buses that stop at all the major stops in the city. When you see something you'd like to take a closer look at, simply hop off the bus and take a look around; another bus will be by shortly. Audio commentary is available during the ride via headphones.
You'll have the option to choose between the East route or West route, seeing some of Barcelona's most famous sights such as:
Sagrada Familia: This unfinished church is a UNESCO World Heritage sight. Designed in the Art Nouveau style by Gaudí, construction on the cathedral began in 1882. The anticipated completion date, however, is 2026.
Casa Batlló: One of Gaudí's most famous works, this building is located in the centre of Madrid. This colourful house is a great example of Gaudí's eclectic Art Nouveau style.
Port Vell: Built in the early 90's, this is Barcelona's main harbour. Here you will find shops, restaurants, and attractions such as the aquarium and an IMAX theatre.
Plaça d’Espanya: Built in 1929 for the Universal Exposition, the square is one of the city's largest, serving as a major thoroughfare for Barcelona's drivers and sporting beautiful buildings.
Camp Nou (F.C. Barcelona): Camp Nou is the largest football stadium in Europe, home to team Barcelona.
Fundació Joan Miró: This museum features many works by famous Spanish modern artist Joan Miró. Opened in 1975, the Joan Miró Foundation is dedicated solely to modern art, and exhibits a diverse range of works from a number of artists.
Once you've seen everything you've wanted to, you'll head back to the train station, where a train will take you back to Barcelona at the appointed time. Your trip will end at the Madrid train station.
